Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County's Heritage Society

When one tosses a pebble into a pond, it creates ripples in the water. These ripples gradually spread, causing several other ripples to occur one after another, after another and so on.

When you join SVdP’s Heritage Society, you are effectively creating this ripple effect in the community for decades to come. SVdP of San Mateo County is currently supported by the ripples of those who came before us. Heritage Society members help ensure a stable future through providing funds to continue helping our neighbors in need survive poverty and hardship.

The Heritage Society enables Vincentians to continue their charitable work and establishes the resources necessary to feed, clothe and shelter our neediest neighbors for generations to come.

What is a “living legacy?”
Just as those who came before us, we too, can build an enduring legacy for the next generation of Vincentians who will serve San Mateo County. A living legacy is a commitment to donate a future gift to the Society, most often through your estate. Your meaningful gift will have a lasting impact. Your legacy gift can fund a program of your choice, or provide funds where most needed.

As a member of SVdP's Heritage Society, your commitment to our mission reflects your union with the Spirit and with those in need, supporting St. Vincent de Paul not just for a lifetime, but forever.

What is the simplest way to become a part of the Heritage Society?
When making a bequest, you may donate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to the Society. Your qualified attorney or financial advisor, well-versed in estate planning, can help you achieve your long-term giving objectives.

Sample wording:
“I would like to donate the following: (item(s) you wish to donate such as cash, stocks, real estate, etc.) to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County and that all gifts to the Society are tax deductible as allowed by law. I understand that the federal tax identification number of the Society is: #94-1375833 and that it is located at:
50 North B Street, San Mateo, CA 94401
Phone: (650) 343-1272

It is my wish that my gift be used for the following purpose(s): (please list the intent of your gift, to support a specific program, general purpose or individual SVdP San Mateo Conference.)”
