Donate Goods

SVdP Thrift Stores have a simple but unique mission – to provide free clothing and household goods to local residents who need it. When you donate your stuff to SVdP, you provide much needed resources for our neighbors in need. All donations we receive are made available to those we help as we provide free clothing and household items to over 1,000 individuals a month to those living in San Mateo County.

At SVdP we strive to make your generous donation of resources available to those who need them. Since 1945, SVdP’s San Mateo County thrift stores have provided those in need with their choice of our high quality donations, ranging from clothing to household necessities. As we regularly visit individuals and families, we aim to provide them with any material goods they need. You can help us provide our clients with great quality, long lasting items at no cost. Here is a list of what is most needed and what we are accepting as donation: Please keep in mind that your donation will be used so we ask that you donate new or almost new items that will be loved for a long a time.

We Accept (In good usuable condition)
-New & gently used adult clothing (clean and washed)
-Adult clothing accessories (purses, backpacks, wallets, belts, hats, and jewelry)
-General household items (pots, pans, utensils, dishes, silverware)
-Bath towels and linens 
-Holiday items (Christmas, Halloween, Easter)

We Do Not Accept
-Items in poor condition (heavily used, ripped, torn, stained or dirty)
-Electronics and Appliances
-Furniture
-Mattresses, box springs, and sleeping pillows
-Toys
-Children and Infant clothing and accessories
-Luggage
-Picture Frames and Artwork
-Books, VHS, CDs
-Tools & Scrap metal
-Weapons & chemicals
