After Thanksgiving, a family of four moved into the La Selva neighborhood. Single other, Maria, with her three boys – ages 11, 13, and 14. Previously, the family was living in a LifeMoves temporary shelter in San Mateo. Coming from the shelter setting, they do not own bedding – sheets, blankets, pillows. This family is in need of beds for each the children and the mother. Through her own resourcefulness, Maria did find bed frames for each family member.
St. Mark’s Conference ordered items from Malouf on behalf of Maria’s family. The order consisted of: for the boys – 3 twin mattresses, 3 mattress protectors and 3 bed-in-a-bag. For Maria – 1 full mattress, 1 mattress protector and 1 bed-in-a-bag.
The total cost for this family of four, including shipping, is $722.15 Maria is contributing $100 toward the cost.
