Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County (SVdP) is holding its first City Book Donation Drive!
When: this Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-29th) SVdP volunteers will collect your used books from 8am – 4pm.
Where: on California Drive, north of the Burlingame Train Station. Look for the SVdP truck!
Why: Donated books are either gifted to children (during the 10,000 home visits SVdP undertakes to neighbors in need annually) or sold on line or in our thrift stores to support SVdP’s programs. Revenue raised helps support SVdP’s Safety Net Services (Peninsula Family Resource Center and 3 Homeless Help Centers) and SVdP’s Restorative Justice Program for crime victims, the incarcerated and post release services to help reduce recidivism. SVdP helps over 25,000 neighbors in need annually in San Mateo County. These donated books have 100% zero waste; all books are reused or recycled.
Books that make the most difference are: Text Books, Business Books, Self-help/Motivational Book, Children’s Books and Biographies. Our goal is to get 1 million books donated during 2016. Any and all books are welcome!
SVdP would like to thank the City of Burlingame and Burlingame Police Department for their support of this donation drive. We are grateful for any and all book donations! For more information email Danyelle Kelly.
