“God Made a Vincentian”

“God Made a Vincentian”

And on the 8th day, God looked upon San Mateo County and said, “I need a caretaker.” So God made a Vincentian.

God said, “I need somebody willing to feed the hungry and give drink to the thirsty.” So God made a Vincentian.

“I need somebody to greet a stranger, clothe the naked, help the sick and visit those in prison.” So God made a Vincentian.

God said, “I need somebody willing to sit up all night with a friend in need.  Somebody to pray, to cry, to laugh, to care and to show compassion to a neighbor.” So God made a Vincentian.

God said, “I need somebody strong enough to help our brothers and sisters in crisis, to heed the Spirit, to mourn, to be humble, to be forgiving, to be a peacemaker.”

“Somebody who will go to the poor, to serve those who are most in need, to love and help each other, to do good, and, especially, to see Christ in the faces of the poor.” So God made a Vincentian.

(Paraphrasing Paul Harvey – thank you for the inspiration!)
